Terms of Service
The plain-language terms that apply when you use our website, communicate with us, or engage us for consulting work.

1. Welcome
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") cover your use of the Brewed Security Consulting LLC website ("Brewed Security," "we," "us," or "our") at brewedsecurity.com, and the general terms that apply when you communicate with us or engage us for consulting work.
We're a Cincinnati-based cybersecurity consulting firm, and we like to keep things in plain language. So do these Terms. By using our site or working with us, you agree to what's written here.
If anything below is unclear, reach out — we're happy to explain it. You can contact us at sales@brewedsecurity.com or (513) 285-6631.
2. Using Our Website
You're welcome to browse our site, read our content, and reach out to us. In return, we ask that you:
- Use the site for lawful purposes only.
- Don't try to break, overload, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the site or any connected systems.
- Don't copy or republish our content as your own without permission.
The content on our site — articles, guides, and educational material — is for general information. It's meant to help business owners understand security in plain terms. It is not a security assessment of your specific business, and reading it does not create a consulting relationship between us.
We may update, change, or remove site content at any time without notice.
3. No Guarantee of Security or Legal Outcomes
We take our work seriously, and we bring real experience to it. But cybersecurity is not a product you buy once and forget — it's an ongoing practice, and no provider can promise perfect protection.
So, to be clear:
- We do not guarantee that following our recommendations will prevent every breach, intrusion, data loss, downtime, or other security incident. No one honestly can.
- We do not provide legal, regulatory, or compliance certification opinions. Our guidance is practical security advice, not a legal or compliance determination. For those questions, consult a qualified attorney or compliance professional.
- Information on this site is general and may not fit your specific situation. Don't treat website content as a substitute for a professional engagement.
Our services are provided on a professional-effort basis. We aim to help you reduce common, practical risks and make informed decisions — not to eliminate all risk, which isn't possible.
4. Consulting Engagements
When you hire us for consulting work, the specifics — scope, deliverables, schedule, fees, and payment terms — are set out in a separate written Statement of Work (SOW) or master services agreement that we and you both sign.
A few things worth knowing up front:
- The SOW governs the details. If anything in a signed SOW conflicts with these Terms, the signed SOW controls for that engagement.
- Payment terms are set in the SOW or on the applicable invoice. Please pay invoices according to those terms.
- Changes to scope, timeline, fees, or deliverables are handled through a written change order or a new SOW before the additional work begins. We won't spring surprise charges on you, and we ask the same courtesy in return.
- Your cooperation matters. Engagements depend on timely access to systems, documentation, and the right people on your side. Delays there can affect the schedule.
5. Confidentiality and Your Data
Security is our business, so handling information carefully is table stakes for us.
- We treat the confidential information you share with us as confidential, and we use reasonable care to protect it.
- We use it only for the purposes of delivering the services you've engaged us for.
- We won't knowingly share your confidential information with third parties except as needed to deliver the services, as required by law, or with your approval.
For details on how we collect, use, and protect personal information through our website and communications, please see our Privacy Policy.
6. Text Messaging (SMS) Terms
If you give us your mobile number and opt in, we may send you text messages related to your project. Here's exactly how that works.
What you're agreeing to. By providing your mobile number and opting in (on a form, in an SOW, or by texting us first), you consent to receive conversational, project-related SMS/text messages from Brewed Security Consulting LLC.
What we'll text you about. Our messages are for practical project coordination, such as:
- Scheduling and meeting reminders
- Project status updates
- Requests for missing information or approvals
- Follow-up questions on active work
- Letting you know a deliverable or update is ready for review
What we won't do. We will not send you unrelated marketing or promotional texts unless you separately opt in to those. Project coordination and marketing are two different things, and we keep them separate.
How often. Message frequency varies based on your project's activity — busier phases mean more messages, quiet phases mean fewer.
Costs. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Those charges are between you and your carrier.
Getting help or opting out. You're always in control:
- Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us at sales@brewedsecurity.com / (513) 285-6631.
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out. We'll stop sending project texts to that number.
Opting out of SMS won't affect your project — we'll simply coordinate by email or phone instead. Your consent to texts is not a condition of doing business with us.
For more on how we handle the information tied to your messages, see our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
The Brewed Security name, logo, site design, and original content are ours (or used with permission) and are protected by applicable law. You may share links to our content, but please don't reproduce, rebrand, or sell it without our written permission.
Deliverables we create for you under a signed SOW are addressed in that SOW.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- Our website and its general content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind.
- Brewed Security is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website.
- For paid consulting engagements, any limitation of liability is governed by the terms of the applicable signed SOW or master services agreement.
9. Third-Party Links
Our site may link to other websites we don't control. We share those links for convenience or reference — we're not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use our site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or our website will be handled in the appropriate courts located in Ohio.
